2. GearWrench 8123OP 120XP 4-Piece Flex Ratchet Set
Another GearWrench set is featured here and for good reason: They make high quality tools that don’t break the bank.
The 81230P set has flexible heads for turning bolts in awkward places. Included in the set are 1/4 inch drive, 3/8 inch drive regular and stubby and 1/2 inch drive ratchets.
Just like the other GearWrench set these ratchets can be operated in tighter spots. These can operate in as little as a 3 degree arc swing. Slightly less than the 81206F set.
GearWrench offers a lifetime warranty with this set.
3. TEKTON 91804 3-Piece Quick-Release Swivel Head Ratchet Set
The TEKTON set features a different design compared to the GearWrench ratchets. These have round heads which can swivel up to 270 degrees for tighter spots. The push button quick release is a nice feature to easily change socket sizes.
The ratchets have 72 teeth; a bit less than the GearWrench ratchets but not a deal breaker. They are a good choice if you wanted a soft cushion grip.
Who Makes the Best Ratchet?
I don’t think there is one best ratchet for everyone. Why?
Everybody has their own needs. What’s best for you isn’t necessarily best for someone else.
If you aren’t a professional mechanic would you buy tools off the Snap-On truck? The tool trucks make high-quality tools but they are meant for professionals. They pay a premium for the tool trucks to come to their workplace.
