If you are looking for your first cordless drill or want to upgrade your existing one look no further. I have found a few drills suitable for everyday tasks.

Best Power Drills for Home Use

Dewalt DCD771C2 20V MAX Cordless Drill

  • 20V of power
  • 1/2 inch chuck
  • Brush-less motor
  • 2 Lithium Ion batteries
  • Compact charger
  • Soft carry bag
  • 3 year limited warranty

The Dewalt DCD771C2 has a brush-less motor which is said to last up to 30% longer per charge. The brush-less motor combined with the lithium ion batteries makes this drill last for hours before needing a charge. The batteries are rated at 1.5 mah and take about an hour to charge.

One feature missing from the drill is a battery life indicator. I guess they had to leave something out at this price point.

There is a built in LED light on the drill which stays on for 10 seconds after the trigger is pressed. It makes things easier when drilling or screwing in dark areas. Just a quick tap of the trigger to activate the light and then you can line up the drill bit.

The chuck has 2 speeds with 15 settings for drilling and driving screws.
